How Invisalign Clear Aligners are Made

If you are looking to adjust your smile then you may be considering Invisalign clear aligners. Our Vancouver dentist talks about treatment using clear aligns and how Invisalign aligners are made.

If you're thinking about using Invisalign clear aligners instead of braces for your orthodontic treatment, you might be curious about how they're made. This makes sense since they will be a part of your life for a long time!

Invisalign Aligners Made From Medical-Grade Resins

Invisalign clear aligners resemble braces in that individuals can remove them to eat and drink. Invisalign clear aligners consist of clear, transparent plastic instead of the metal and brackets that are visible in traditional braces. BPA-free, high-molecular-weight USP Class VI medical-grade polyurethane resins are used.

Custom Fit & Production of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Each situation is unique, just like traditional orthodontic treatment with metal braces, and will necessitate a customized treatment plan.

Invisalign aligners are tailored to fit your mouth perfectly and are specifically developed to help you reach your smile goals.

During the consultation, your dentist will take X-rays, impressions, and pictures of your teeth in person. Based on these pictures and X-rays, your dentist can build a tailored treatment plan and discuss it with you. They will make your clear aligners after you approve the expected results.

For very accurate scans, our intraoral scanners will develop a model of your teeth by obtaining photos of each tooth. You'll also receive a preview of how your teeth will look once your treatment is complete.

The dentist will do quadrant and full-bite scans to analyze your malocclusion in relation to the rest of your mouth.

The entire model, along with the scanned pictures, is then transmitted to Align Technologies, where the aligners are manufactured.

Treatment With Invisalign Clear Aligners

Throughout your Invisalign clear aligner treatment, you will switch between sets that will allow your teeth to move in modest increments.

The Invisalign treatment typically lasts one year, and you typically wear each new set of aligners for two weeks before switching to the next. You will most likely use 50 or more aligner sets during your therapy.
